DANCE EXPOSURE PROGRAMS
Each year, CBT offers a dance exposure package that has as it’s centerpiece a live performance at the Leon M. Goldstein Performing Arts Center in Kingsborough Community College. The package also includes a single movement workshop at the public school site and a meet-the-artist Q&A after the performance.
2020 Storytelling through Dance Package
Live Performance: The Secret Garden - March 11 & 12
A ballet inspired by Frances Hodgson Burnett’s children’s story about
a secret and mysterious garden that heals the hearts of three broken people.
60 minutes
Student Movement Workshop:
Prior to the live performance, a CBT teaching artist travels to the school for
a forty-five minute student workshop or master class. Students experience
the dance techniques used in the performance, learn background about the
ballet and learn some of the ballet’s choreography too.
Meet-the-Artist:
Immediately following the live performance, students have a chance to meet
the professional dancers to talk about their dance careers in an informative,
fun Q & A meeting that lasts 30-45 minutes.

Funding for 2019/2020 programming is sponsored, in part, by public funds from the NYC Dept. of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
